Freaker Friday - Pop Chart Lab!

It's March Madness!!! Have you already framed your bracket this year? Is your lucky shirt proving its worth? Did you set your couch on fire in celebration? (I'm looking at you, West Virginia.) Whatever your sportula preferences are, March is a time for raucous friends, team spirit and most importantly, Air Bud. Let the hoop dreams begin. WHAT YOU'RE WINNING: We have 5 care packages this week featuring A Visual Compendium of Basketball Jerseys by Pop Chart Lab! Pop Chart Lab's story is seemingly simple: "In 2010, a book editor and a graphic designer joined forces with one modest goal: to render all of human experience in chart form." Since then, Pop Chart Lab has beautifully mapped out the most important moments in human accomplishements. Some of our personal favorites: The Many Varieties of Whiskey, The Grand Taxonomy of Rap Names, and The Periodic Table of Heavy Metals. We're rooting for these to make the history books, guys. Printed with vegetable-based inks in Long Island City, Queens, the Visual Compendium of Basketball Jerseys traces the history of amazing jerseys from 1921 to 2014, and yes - to answer your inevitable question - of COURSE they included Space Jam. Each winner also gets an Aztechno Freaker! HOW TO ENTER: Who would be the all-star of your fictitious dream team? Get on Facebook, find this graphic, and leave a us a photo comment with your answer!! Winners announced in our Tuesday newsletter!

Re-Release: Aztechno!

“I consider myself a court jester-motivator.” - Richard Simmons Even though it's still technically winter, we've officially entered that weird transitional season when you start hearing the words "get your summer body ready" in unexpected places. Oof. This season you're probably going to get peer pressured into group pilates, the cross fit pit, cycling on a fake bike machine in a dark room with candles and Enya (or whatever kids are doing these days) and there's not much you can do to stop it. Beauty is pain? Yeah, well, at least have some fun with it. Cycle down to boogy town and evoke the essence of workout heroes of days past. Ladies and gentlemen, give a warm welcome to the latest out-of-retirement member of the Freaker Family... Aztechno!

Goldyard!

Our favorite Atlanta rap group, Goldyard, dropped by Freakerville this morning before heading out on tour with Jarren Benton!  "Smoke rises, lasers paint the room, two mcs and a gorilla with a gift... Goldyard. In a time when music is looking for the next wave of style and creativity, this trio has found that imitation is not always the highest form of flattery. With edgy subject matter and a mesmerizing Rockstar aura, this group has blazed a hot new trail in popular music... With a mesh of hip-hop, electronic, and everything in between, this group paves the way for innovators and creators of the future." -Red Bull Sound Select on Goldyard. If you're looking for an adventure, check out their tour dates & see if they're tearing up a city near you! Have fun out there -

Freaker Friday: Carry On Cocktail Kit!

The last time you got on an airplane, what was your general sentiment? Our guess is that it was one of two things: A.) "I'm having a panic attack and the person next to me smells like if a hospital cafeteria and Diane Rehm's voice had a secret illegitimate child." B.) "LOOK MOM, I'M FLYINGGGGGGGG!!!!! IT'S WIZARDRY!!!" Being able to fly anywhere you want at any given point in time is incredible. What was once thought of as a magical feat of the human experience is now considered a nuisance, and many dread it. Are you one of those people that love travel but hate flying? What could possibly make airports more bearable? Sit down, buckle up, lean back and enjoy, because we know the answer and it's going to be great news. WHAT YOU'RE WINNING: We have 5 care packages this week featuring W&P Design's latest creation: The Carry On Cocktail Kit! W&P Design is the same small team of designers and foodies that brought you The Mason Shaker and The Homemade Gin Kit! Their newest project, the Carry On Cocktail Kit gives you everything you need to make proper Old Fashions at 30,000 feet. The kit includes a carry on tin, an Old Fashion recipe, cane sugar, spoon / muddler, small batch bitters, and a linen coaster to make sure your flying experience is top notch! Just order a mini-bottle of bourbon from the stewardess and wah-lah! "Enjoy your flight" is no longer just wishful thinking. Each winner also gets a Tug Life Freaker! HOW TO ENTER: Get on Instagram and show us one thing you always want to travel with. Use the hashtag #FreakQuentFlyer for your chance to win! Winners announced in our Tuesday newsletter!

Freaker Friday: Wax + Cloth

The internet imploded last night over the color of a dress. The black + blue vs. white + gold debate rages on, with allegations of internet-sorcery and dark-magic flying left and swiping right. Tensions are high, with both sides of the aisle turning more and more passionate about what color duo they see on the dress. The whole ordeal has us yearning to see other duo debates. Are you seeing Mario + Luigi or Batman + Robin? Peanut butter + Jelly or Pizza + Beer? It's Friday. Let the games begin. WHAT YOU'RE WINNING: We have 7 care packages this week featuring handmade pouches from Wax + Cloth! Despite this week's theme of teamwork, Wax + Cloth is a one man operation. Paul Kwiatkowski designs, creates, and handmakes everything in his special corner of Raleigh, North Carolina! Batman before Robin. Bey before Jay. And he's doing an incredible job. We have 7 pouches, some small (11" x 9"), some large ( 12" x 10.5") some made with the classic waxed cotton, and some from Paul's unreleased felt line, so you'll be one of the first to paw on his new creations! Each winner also gets a Freaker of their choice! HOW TO ENTER: Get on Facebook and leave us a comment on this graphic with your favorite duo for your chance to win! Winners announced in our Tuesday newsletter!
