We like to consider the Freaker BoxTruck a masterpiece in itself. Our fearless road warriors have finally returned after a week of ... road war? The beloved BabyBTruck has been in a Las Vegas storage unit since January because we scheduled ourselves for exactly 4 gazillion trade shows in the desert this year. Last week, it was confirmed: it was finally time to bring her home.  After a week of the open road, close encounters with a tribe of bobcats, and a handful of trucks health-scares, she's home! Now that it's confirmed that everybody survived, let's all take a breath of relief and reflect on the totality of weirdness roadtrips in America deliver. 

We came to a startling epiphany this weekend. This changes everything and nothing all in the same. ...EXCELLENT.

This past weekend we gathered up a buddy, a puppy, and a boxtruck for Raleigh's 4th annual Hopscotch Music Festival! 

Last week was spent wallowing on the floors of the Mandalay Bay convention center for POOL trade show. We've been floating in space ever since. Here's why:

  Big changes have been going down in the Department of Mobile Freakdom Our baby Box Truck has spent all winter in a metaphorical cocoon, and now, with the help of Jeff, our local blacksmith, he will soon emerge a beautiful butterfly-on-wheels!

Today marks the launch of Wilmington's annual International Film Festival, Cucalorus! From now until Sunday, our little nesting-grounds will have thousands of newcomers, filmmakers, and fancypants wearing their partypants. There will be hundreds of Freakers floating around and our baby boxtruck is officially set up in the backyard of Cucalorus headquarters: Jengo's Playhouse!!

Tomorrow from 4-8, we'll have the boxtruck set up for Wilmington's 1st Truck a ROO! In less than 24 hours, it will officially be Saturday morning. What does this mean for you? Cereal! Cartoons! Cigars! Of course, we didn't have to tell you these things: it is innate knowledge. Here's what we do have to tell you: Wilmington's very first Truck A ROO is launching into space! With regional food trucks stationed downtown, nibbles will be plentiful. We're also setting up the Freaker Boxtruck as a musical stage so that you can wear that Jitterbug Perfume all day! Wallowing in the glory is free! You can also buy a ballot card for $10, which gets you all the edibles! And for the lushes (I'm looking at you. In the soul.) there will be local microbrews & mischief for all!

We've picked up a new hobby to spend the time productively. You guys should really try it out sometime, it's a cool new fad. It's called "BLACKMAIL" Backstory: A couple days ago we came home to our boxtruck house and My Morning Jacket was playing a show in our front yard. So we had a (boxtruck) house party....
